Under the title of the motet "Da pacem", the Ricercar Consort under Philippe Pierlot brings together sacred choral works by Heinrich Schütz. The pieces express the prayers of the people in the troubled times of the Thirty Years' War. The sacred concertos (Symphoniae sacrae), motets and psalm settings conveyed people's hope for a just and lasting peace, and they do so again today. Two instrumental pieces by Johann Hermann Schein complete the program.
