With sex appeal and testosterone on the one hand, and a bass-baritone voice second to none, Ildebrando d'Arcangelo is more credible and convincing than many other "Don Giovanni" actors. Sven-Eric Bechtholf's staging was praised as "aesthetic" and finds convincing solutions to the well-known stage problems posed by the Don Giovanni theme.
