To mark the 100th anniversary of Mikis Theodorakis' birth, GENUIN's new album conjures up the spirits of his homeland and classical antiquity in three symphonic works by the most famous Greek composer, which played a major role towards the end of his life: From the early "Sinfonietta" in a new version to the folksy "Rhapsody for Guitar and Orchestra", to the no less heartfelt nine-part "Rhapsody for Cello and Orchestra", Theodorakis' last orchestral work.

The young, up-and-coming Kornilios Michailidis conducts the top Greek orchestra with verve, and the soloists on the album contribute to these remarkable recordings at the highest level.
