"Beautiful world, where are you?" These words by Friedrich Schiller are at the beginning of this new project, an exploration of existence, wandering and mourning. Coline Dutilleul has devised a program in which keyboard works by Johann Sebastian Bach and songs by Franz Schubert echo themes such as melancholy and death: inner states that make the music palpable through tempo, texture and harmony. These works trace a journey characterized by absence and resilience, in which restlessness, renunciation and appeasement alternate like the phases of mourning.
