A "Lohen-Dreamin 2016, an operatic dream became reality in Dresden: Anna Netrebko, probably the most famous opera diva of our time, ventured into the lyric-dramatic vocal realm for the first time for her debut as "Elsa" in Richard Wagner's opera "Lohengrin". The 44-year-old star soprano thrilled the audience with a masterful performance of her first Wagner role. Piotr Beczala, who left the lyrical French and Italian tenor repertoire, in which he is normally at home, for his part as "Lohengrin", also caused a further sensation in terms of subject expansion. With Christian Thielemann, currently the most respected Wagner interpreter and principal conductor of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, Christine Mielitz's production of Lohengrin shone in new splendor and fascinated audiences and press alike. The "Welt," for example, spoke of "musically one of the best Lohengrins of all time - a Lohen-Dream!" The traditional label Deutsche Grammophon now releases the recording of the opera as its first product with Ultra-HD (4k) quality, the best video quality available. Also available as Blu-ray, DVD and as E-Video.
