Wolfgang Rihm, who turned seventy this year, is one of the most renowned and productive composers of the present day. His collaboration with the Ensemble Modern goes back to the early eighties. His large-scale symphonic piece "Jagden und Formen" also received its world premiere in 2001 by the Ensemble Modern. In "Zustand 2008" this work in progress, which has grown over the years, has reached its final form. You can hear a live recording conducted by Sir George Benjamin in cooperation with Deutschlandradio Kultur, performed at the Berlin Philharmonie as part of the Musikfest Berlin 2020.
