Chaminade, Saint-Saens: PIano Trios
Trio Aralia
Camille Saint-Saëns and Cécile Chaminade were born just 22 years apart. In the course of their long lives, they met the leading figures of musical romanticism and the pillars of modernism. The enormously productive Saint-Saëns was a passionate advocate of French music, particularly through the Société nationale de musique (SNM), which he co-founded. Chaminade, who was supported by the SNM at the beginning of her career, found recognition particularly on the other side of the Channel. Trio Aralia presents the second piano trio by each of these stylistically different composers
