This recording follows on from a stage production in which the orchestra joined forces with a dancer. Encouraged by the outstanding success of these performances, the Akademie für Alte Musik was keen to re-record the works in the studio. Although free from all choreographic intentions here, their interpretation was still profoundly influenced by this experience.
