Trio Karénine
Three years after a superb, critically acclaimed recording of the "Dumky Trio," Trio Karénine tackles Dvořák again. At the center is his epic and dramatic Trio No. 3, which combines Brahmsian inspiration with Czech folk sounds. In addition, two "minor" works by Suk are heard: the early Trio Op. 2, refined under Dvořák's tutelage, and the poignant Elegy Op. 23, commemorating the great Czech literary figure Zeyer. A truly Bohemian album.
