Günter Wand (1912-2002) has left us dozens of records: Complete symphonic cycles and impressive live recordings of his concerts with the NDR Symphony Orchestra and the Munich Philharmonic. Throughout his life the archetypal anti-star and underestimated precisely for that reason, the conductor only gained international recognition as an incomparable interpreter of classical music in his old age. Accordingly, most of these multiple award-winning reference recordings date from his later years.
