In the Roaring Twenties of the 20th century, known in France as the Années folles, Paris was not only a temporary home for many artists, but also an impressive creative laboratory in which jazz, Latin American music and neoclassicism mingled. The guitar benefited from this upswing, expanded its repertoire and conquered its place in the concert hall. The Brazilian guitarist Pedro Aguiar portrays personalities of this artistic upswing: Villa-Lobos with his 12 Etudes, cornerstones of the repertoire, De Falla, Germaine Tailleferre, Gustave Samazeuilh and Manuel Ponce. The inspiration of the great Andrés Segovia is unmistakable.
