Until today only very few live recordings with amber are available. Some of these recordings offer extraordinary rarities. This is also the case with Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony, recorded live in New York in 1958. An interpretation full of drama and agonizing and restless "Russian spirit". All the more lovely the other two works on this CD, which were recorded during a tour through Russia in 1959. In particular a really sensational "La Valse"; one of the conductor's favourite works.
