Spark gives the young creative classical music scene an exciting new voice. The quintet combines the subtlety and precision of a classical chamber music ensemble with the energy and bite of a rock band. Since 2007, the five adventurous musicians have been whirling across the stages of the world as a classical band, celebrating an eccentric mix of post-classic, minimal music and avant-garde. In 2011 the ensemble was awarded the ECHO Klassik. Virtuosic and uninhibited, the group members move between the most diverse musical worlds. Called "chamber music for the Facebook generation" by DIE ZEIT, the Spark sound captures the attitude towards life of the 21st century. Fast cuts, a natural juxtaposition of different eras and styles, the art of surprise and the joy of musical-associative illusion characterize the style of this classic band. After celebrating their furious debut with contemporary accents at Berlin Classics 2015 with Wild Territories, what belongs together is now coming together: Neue Meister will release the classical band's fourth album in summer 2017, Facets of Infinity, which will bring together Spark in the work of the same name by the Berlin composer and pioneer of the Neue Meister movement Johannes Motschmann as a soloist group with the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra under the direction of Sebastian Weigle. Orchestral vastness with the recognizable sound of Johannes Motschmann meets the virtuoso diversity of the ensemble, a truly masterful collaboration of two acts of which one would like to - and will - hear much more in the future.
