Listening pleasure With the recording of three piano concertos by Carl Reinecke, the HYPERION SERIES The Romantic Piano Concerto reaches its 85th installment. During a long and productive life, the extremely versatile Reinecke was also active as an important teacher (his pupils included Grieg, Bruch and Janácek). His piano concertos, in which influences from Mendelssohn and Schumann can be heard, guarantee a great deal of listening pleasure, above all thanks to the sensitive playing of Simon Callaghan, who is supported here by the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra under Modestas Pitrenas.
